Active Ingredients

Ginger is an herbaceous, flowering plant that has been used for thousands of years as medicine. Most ginger that is used in cooking and health treatments comes from the root of the plant. It originated in the warmer, southern parts of China, although it has been used historically in Japan and India for many generations.

It’s beneficial in alleviating gastrointestinal distress symptoms, preventing the symptoms of motion sickness (especially seasickness), and reducing nausea and vomiting from pregnancy (thanks to its anti-vomiting action). Ginger contains very potent anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols; it is also helpful in treating:

  • osteoarthritis
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • menstrual cramps, and migraine headaches if used regularly.

It is also known as a powerhouse for fighting germs in the body and halting the growth of bacteria such as E. coli.

For your furry and feline friends, ginger offers many health benefits as well, from digestive relief to heartworm and cancer prevention.

Ylang Ylang

Ylang ylang is a fast-growing tree with a yellow, star-shaped flower and a sweet, rich floral aroma.

This flower has components that support:

  • emotional health by easing sadness
  • depression and anxiety
  • and aphrodisiac properties

Ylang ylang’s antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-seborrheic properties make it excellent for cleaning the skin and scalp and treating acne.

It grows in South Asian countries and countries that border the Indian Ocean, including India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia. Like jasmine, it has been used in religious ceremonies and rituals and can reduce feelings such as anger or jealousy and low self-esteem.

One study showed that it could also have a sedative effect and help lower blood pressure and heart rate.
