Active Ingredients

Camphor has a long history of providing therapeutic relief for a variety of maladies. It is a species of evergreen trees native to China south of the Yangtze River, Taiwan, southern Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

By using either the leaves of the tree or oil extracted from the wood, Camphor’s antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties can treat:

  • skin conditions
  • improve respiratory function
  • and relieve pain

If applied to the skin, it can stimulate nerve endings, which seems to relieve pain and itching symptoms.

It is known to be a mild pain reliever and is easily absorbed through the skin. It can also be applied to the neck and chest to reduce the urge to cough when breathed in.

Capsicum can be any of several tropical plants native to Mexico, Central America, northern South America (including Peru), and Bolivia.

Cultivated as edible peppers, these spicy, or only sweet, flowering plants have several health benefits, significantly impacting:

  • the digestive system
  • improving immune health
  • and providing pain relief

The capsicum plant’s fruit can have different names based on where it is grown and the type. The spicy varieties are commonly called chili peppers, while the large, mild form is called red pepper or bell pepper.

The plants are known for being rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants and an ingredient called capsaicin that altogether boost immunity, lower inflammation in the body (thus providing pain relief).

They can even speed up metabolism for weight loss.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil

Providing a full spectrum of healing properties for the skin, meadowfoam is a grassland wildflower native to the Pacific Northwest and Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Because its flowers resemble the white foam from crashing waves in the ocean, it is called meadowfoam.

The oil was first developed to mimic whale oil and possesses moisturizing and rejuvenating properties for the skin. The oil, extracted from the seed, helps the following conditions:

  • acne
  • psoriasis
  • eczema
  • dermatitis
  • sunburn
  • stretch marks
  • burns and cuts
  • scars and cellulite
  • It can also be used on the scalp and hair to fortify and moisturize.

It’s an incredibly healing oil for animals as well and can strengthen and hydrate their coats and skin.

The peppermint herb is a hybrid between watermint and spearmint and was originally cultivated in Europe and the Middle East. For centuries, it has provided a diverse array of health benefits.

It is especially useful for:

  • indigestion and bloating of Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • anti-inflammatory
  • and soothes muscles of the GI tract

Peppermint is also a natural decongestant, and one of the plant’s active ingredients is menthol, which treats mucus and reduces coughs.

It is also soothing to sore throats and helpful to lower blood sugar and treat Type II Diabetes.

The aroma alone can increase one’s memory and alertness. It can be used for allergy relief for dogs, as an analgesic for mild muscle pain, as an antiseptic for open cuts or wounds, and provided to aid in digestion.
